The band behind the critically-acclaimed album ‘Mellon Collie and the Infitine Sadness’, and era-defining tracks such as ‘Tonight, Tonight’ returns in 2018 with their ‘Sunny and Oh So Bright Tour’. With three of the original four members back in the lineup, the tour will celebrate the band’s first five albums. The Smashing Pumpkins formed in 1988, lead by lead vocalist, Billy Corgan. They sat perfectly in the grunge of the 90s, making many iconic tracks over the years and selling over 30 million albums internationally. Despite huge success and reception, and arguably excessive touring, the band yielded to the rockstar life of drugs and disagreements, splitting in 2000. Corgan reunited with original drummer, Jimmy Chamberlin, in 2006, releasing a whole works of new material. This did not last either, and Corgan continued down various musical paths since. Now back together again and joined by original guitarist, James Iha, for the first time since 2000, the trio are celebrating the Smashing Pumpkins’ 30th birthday. At the beginning of 2018, the group shocked and delighted fans with hints of their reunion and celebratory tour. The tour was later confirmed, and will hear the sounds of ‘Gish’ (1991), ‘Saimese Dream’ (1993), ‘Adore’ (1998) and other work performed live once again.
