Muse

Biography

There are few rock bands out there right now more ambitious than Muse. Since forming in 1994, the Grammy Award-winning band have taken rock into outer space with their classical-inflected space rock and phenomenal live shows.

Muse formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994, consisting of Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). The band released their first album Showbiz in 1999 and shot to fame with their second effort Origin of Symmetry in 2001, which saw the band incorporating the romantic classical influences that have become their trademark. The release of Absolution in 2003 - the first of Muse's five consecutive UK No. 1 albums - was what truly began Muse's fame and the trio quickly found themselves rewarded with a stunning headline performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2004. Muse's trajectory has only been upward since with more ambitious albums and even bigger shows including four dates at Wembley Stadium in 2007 and 2010.

In the 2010s Muse have been critically and commercially acclaimed, winning two Best Rock Album Grammies for The Resistance and Drones, and can truly lay claim to being the biggest band in the world right now. Galactic dominance is surely on the agenda.
